July, 16th - EC-TEL Best Papers will be invited for publication in IEEE TLT
IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies is one of the top journals in the Educational Technology area. It appears #9 in the top publications in Educational Technology in google scholar ranking. We are happy to announce, that the authors of the best EC-TEL papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their EC-TEL publication to IEEE TLT.
July, 14th - Call for Industry Track Presentations
During EC-TEL there will be again an Industry Track. It will present how innovations in technology enhanced learning (TEL) have made their way from research to products and services of industry and will discuss which are open questions from the industry perspectives. The organizers of the track Nils Faltin and Jon Arambarri are looking for speakers.
July, 1th - Preliminary program published
The preliminary program for EC-TEL and i-KNOW 2014 has been published. EC-TEL starts with workshops and the Doctoral Consortium. Scientific and industry sessions are planned for Thursday and Friday. 4 Keynotes will be highlights. The program is rounded off by poster presentations and a demo shootout followed by presentations.
June, 17th - 2nd Call for Demos and Posters published
We offer an opportunity to present existing prototypes as demos and work in progress as posters to ECTEL community. Therefore we encourage you to submit a poster or a demonstration to EC-TEL. For more details please refer to the complete call.
June, 16th -EC-TEL registration opened
Online Registration for EC-TEL is now opened. Early Registration is possible until 31 July 2014. Please register here.
June, 12th - Bernardo A. Huberman to give keynote at i-KNOW and EC-TEL
We are happy to announce the following shared keynote. Bernado A. Huberman, Senior HP Fellow and Director of the Social Computing Lab at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, will give the closing keynote at i-KNOW
2014 and EC-TEL participants will have the opportunity to see his talk entitled “Big Data and the Attention Economy”.
June, 5th - Notifications were sent out
EC-TEL 2014 has been very competitive: We have received 165 valid submissions, out of which 28 were accepted as full papers, 18 as short papers, 16 as demos and 33 as posters. Authors were notified yesterday.
June, 2nd - Viktor Mayer-Schönberger to give keynote at i-KNOW and EC-TEL
Viktor Mayer-Schönberger, Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at University of Oxford, will give a sahred keynote at i-KNOW 2014. He will talk about Big Data and how it promises to fundamentally change how we make sense of the world. EC-TEL participants will have the opportunity to see his talk.
May, 7th - Decision on Workshops & Tutorials
Out of 14 proposals we decided to accept eleven workshops and tutorials, which will take place in conjunction with EC-TEL 2014. Please consider the individual calls.
April, 15th - Review process started
After expiry of the deadline for submitting papers we started the review process. 182 submissions have been assigned to the members of the Programm Committee. We thank all authors for their contribution and the member of the PC for their willingness to help us with their expertise.
April, 12th - Tomorrow deadline for final paper submission and paper bidding
Review process will start at Tuesday, 15th of April. Authors are requested to submit the complete paper till tomorrow. PC members are requested to bid for papers they want to review.
April, 2nd - Étienne Wenger to give opening keynote
Great news: Etienne Wenger, educational theorist and practitioner, best known for his seminal work on communities of practice and social learning theory, will give the opening keynote at EC-TEL and i-KNOW 2014.
March, 29th - More than 200 papers submitted
More than 200 paper abstracts have been submitted. This is a really great turnout, we have not expected. We thank all the authors for their interest and great work.
